A paid-media lead wants to know why Google Ads ROAS fell last week and which campaigns waste budget.
Not a fit if
  • Teams without a Coupler.io account or its connected MCP server
  • Teams that require all analysis to stay inside their own warehouse
  • Users wanting generic data analysis outside marketing, sales, finance or ecommerce

What does this agent do, and when should you use it?

This is Coupler.io's repository of AI agent skills for marketing and PPC, sales, finance, ecommerce, SEO, GEO and Black Friday analysis. Each skill is a SKILL.md file that spells out a repeatable analysis procedure; the data comes through the Coupler.io MCP server, where tools such as list-skills, get-skill, list-datasets, get-schema and get-data discover datasets, inspect columns and run SQL against live business data. Skills define how to analyze, while the MCP layer handles access and execution, and outputs are turned into a structured, validated report. The repo also ships shared capability skills (get-started, create-dataflow, google-ads-custom-gaql, report-generation) and utilities such as an AI-writing humanizer and a live-dashboard builder. Installation runs through a Claude Code plugin marketplace, per-business plugins, or a manual copy into .claude/skills/, so you can install only the cluster you need.

Skills are organized as folders, each containing a SKILL.md with YAML frontmatter limited to the six portable spec keys (name, description, metadata and so on), carrying short_description, category and sources under metadata; a generator script builds the machine-readable skills-index.json. At runtime a skill calls Coupler.io MCP tools: list-skills and get-skill to load the procedure, list-templates, list-integrations, list-credentials, list-datasets and search-datasets for discovery, get-integration, get-integration-field-options, get-dataflow, get-schema and get-data for inspection, create-dataflow, create-dataflow-source, create-dataflow-destination, update-dataflow-source and update-dataflow-destination for configuration, run-dataflow with preview or full mode, and update-dataset to persist a dataset description. The PPC skill, for example, traces funnels per platform, ranks performance on CPA/ROAS, checks budget pacing and creative fatigue, and deliberately refuses to blend conversions across platforms; google-ads-custom-gaql builds a Custom GAQL source when no packaged report type carries a field. report-generation formats output as TL;DR, Metrics, Context, Recommendations and Next Questions, then runs a validation pass over arithmetic, units and claim-versus-data consistency.

  1. A paid-media lead wants to know why Google Ads ROAS fell last week and which campaigns waste budget.
  2. An ecommerce operator needs Shopify sales broken down by product, variant, inventory and discount code, plus a stockout forecast.
  3. A sales manager reviews pipeline coverage, the weakest stage conversion and rep-level cycle length.
  4. A finance team explains this month's P&L movement, calculates cash runway or bridges MRR/ARR changes.
  5. An SEO or content team finds queries ranking just off page one, tracks new-page indexing, or diagnoses a sudden organic traffic drop.
  6. A growth team decides daily, during Black Friday, which campaigns to scale, cut or leave alone.

How do you install or deploy this agent?

You need a Coupler.io account with the Coupler.io MCP server connected. In Claude Code, add the marketplace and install the plugins you want:

/plugin marketplace add coupler-io/skills
/plugin install coupler-finance@coupler-io-skills
/plugin install coupler-sales@coupler-io-skills
/plugin install coupler-ecommerce@coupler-io-skills
/plugin install coupler-marketing-ads@coupler-io-skills

If the install summary asks you to activate, run:

/reload-plugins

You can inspect a plugin's skill count and cost first:

claude plugin details coupler-marketing-ads@coupler-io-skills

Manual alternative: copy any skill folder containing a SKILL.md into your project's .claude/skills/ directory. For a whole team, register the marketplace in the repository's .claude/settings.json:

{
  "extraKnownMarketplaces": {
    "coupler-io-skills": {
      "source": {
        "source": "github",
        "repo": "coupler-io/skills"
      }
    }
  }
}

This adds the marketplace only; each person still installs plugins with /plugin install.

How do you use this agent?

After installing, ask questions in natural language and Claude will reach for matching skills, or invoke a namespaced skill explicitly:

/coupler-finance:finance-analytics

Questions like "Why did Google Ads ROAS decline last week?" or "Which customer cohorts have the strongest retention?" follow the skill's procedure, starting with SELECT * FROM data LIMIT 5 to confirm the dataset shape. To build a pipeline from zero, use the get-started and create-dataflow skills: choose an integration, attach a credential, wire source to destination, run preview, then run full, and optionally add a refresh schedule. When editing skills, change the SKILL.md frontmatter and regenerate the index:

python .github/scripts/generate_skill_index.py

Validate before submitting:

python .github/scripts/generate_skill_index.py --check

What are this agent's strengths and limitations?

Pros
  • Deep per-platform packs (Google, Meta, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Amazon) each own one question and hand off to siblings instead of duplicating logic.
  • Explicit honesty constraints: PPC never blends conversions across platforms, Amazon runs declare one sales basis and attribution window, marketplaces in different currencies are never totalled.
  • report-generation provides an industry-agnostic structure plus a validation pass over arithmetic, units and claim-versus-data consistency.
  • Per-plugin installation with published context costs (coupler-marketing-ads adds roughly 15k tokens) lets teams control session overhead.
  • Frontmatter sticks to the six portable Agent Skills spec keys and puts everything else under metadata, easing reuse across runtimes.
Limitations
  • Data access depends entirely on a Coupler.io account and its MCP server; the skills cannot run analysis without it.
  • The coupler-marketing-ads plugin bundles 81 skills, so a full install consumes substantial context in every session.
  • All skill text is in English, adding friction for non-English teams.
  • Analysis quality rests on how datasets and connectors (Google Ads, Shopify, Salesforce, etc.) are configured inside Coupler.io; the repo ships no data-pipeline implementation itself.

Trust8 / 29 · 1.4/5

README states skills rely on the Coupler.io MCP server for live business data, but gives no least-privilege scoping, no confirmation requirement for write actions (creating/configuring dataflows), no data-flow destination, and no sensitive-data handling guidance. Dataflow creation exists with no rollback or undo path, so rollback scores 0. Dependencies visible are only pyyaml and GitHub Actions with no vulnerability evidence, but no dependency-security notes, so 1. Source attribution is only the Coupler.io mention, no per-claim sourcing.

Reliability3 / 14 · 1.1/5

README is internally consistent and matches its table of contents, but there is no failure handling, error messaging, or degradation path, so failure_messages is 0. Dependency availability is only the MCP server and Coupler.io account prerequisite, unverified, so 1.

Adaptability8 / 18 · 2.2/5

Scenario coverage across marketing, sales, finance, ecommerce is strong, so audience_and_scenarios is 2. Capability boundaries are partially stated (LinkedIn has no hourly split, Amazon single sales basis), but overall boundaries and trigger precision live in individual SKILL.md files not shown here, so 1. Environment fit only notes Coupler.io account plus MCP, so 1.

Convention8 / 18 · 2.2/5

Information architecture is clear with TOC, skills library, installation, examples, so 2. Install notes include marketplace and plugin commands, so 2. Naming is stable and consistent, so 2. Example questions appear only as a heading with no content shown, so 1. Known limitations are scattered with no dedicated section, so 1. MIT license is complete, so 2. No version number or changelog, so 0. Maintenance responsibility is only a Contributing heading with no named owner and an unverified publisher, so 1.

Effectiveness4 / 13 · 1.5/5

Output usability depends on individual SKILL.md output formats; README only describes purposes, so 1. Marginal value is structured analytics workflows but requires a paid Coupler.io account and MCP, so 1. Cost-benefit is affected by account requirement and token cost (README notes plugins cost tokens proportional to skill count), so 1.

Verifiability2 / 8 · 1.3/5

README claims are mostly functional descriptions with no per-claim traceable sources, so claim_traceability is 1. No cross-source corroboration material, so 0. Fact/inference separation is partially present (explicit GA4 only, LinkedIn limits), so 1.

Risks and how to mitigate them
  • Not found in source: rollback or recovery pathBack up first, or work on a git branch or snapshot, so its changes can be undone.
  • Skills can create and configure Coupler.io dataflows, but no user confirmation or rollback mechanism for write actions is documented.
  • Depends on the Coupler.io MCP server and a paid account; data flow and sensitive business data handling are not described in the README.
  • Publisher identity is unverified; maintenance responsibility and update path are unclear.
  • No version number or changelog, making behavior changes hard to track.
  • Only README, LICENSE, and CI workflows were provided; individual SKILL.md contents are absent, so confidence is low.

FAQ

Do the skills cost anything?
The repository is MIT-licensed, so the skills themselves are free. Running them requires a Coupler.io account with the MCP server connected; Coupler.io's own account and plan terms are separate.
Does this only work in Claude Code?
No. The README states the skills work in popular AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and any assistant connected to the Coupler.io MCP server can load them even without installing the plugins.
Why install only the plugins I need?
Every skill's description stays in context for the whole session, so cost scales with skill count. coupler-marketing-ads bundles 81 skills and adds roughly 15k tokens per session, while single-skill plugins add a few hundred.
How do skills actually reach my data?
Skills only define the analysis procedure. Data comes via Coupler.io MCP tools: list-datasets or search-datasets to find datasets, get-schema for columns, get-data for SQL, and the create-dataflow family when a dataflow must be configured.
Can I add or edit skills?
Yes. Edit the SKILL.md frontmatter and run generate_skill_index.py; skills-index.json is generated and must not be edited by hand, and a GitHub Action regenerates it on merge to main.
